03/11/05 : Were famous!
It took a bit of badgering, but CCP have updated there website and
given us a link on the main homepage. This should help drive up
member numbers, and it gives me a bit of a pat on the back I've been
needing lately. I've put a lot of time and effort into the site, and
sometimes you can start to think its not worth it, but CCPs
acknowledgement of the site and the continued sign-up rate has shown
me the site is of great use and that I should continue developing it.
A big thank you to all my testers, and just generally to people who
have helped me track down bugs and fix the data, I consider you part
of the team too!
Check the forums news section for an update on the IGB support, and
new changes going in soon.
27/10/05 : IGB upgrades have started
In a break from the norm, I have started to release the IGB upgrade
in pieces, so you can enjoy the speed benefits if your perservering
with using it. I will post again, hopefully tomorrow night, when I
have finished all the pages.
25/10/05 : Data Upgrade - Finished! & IGB Improvements on the way
I have finished the data upgrade, and I'm happy to say it was a 100%
success! You should notice all the gaps in the data have been filled
and also a noticable speed increase in big queries. Any problems,
please let me know on the forums, or use the contact page.
I have also started converting the site to use CSS, which will make
the IGB version of the site fly. At the moment it is kind of unusable
and this is kinda my fault, for not learning everything I needed to
know about the IGH before I leapt head-first into it. I will keep
you posted...
24/10/05 : Data Upgrade
I've completely re-written the data import procedures, so I can now
pull in 100% of the data. I know there are still things missing from
the feeds, but they will have to be added manually.
The new script is surprisingly fast, taking about 9 seconds to run, so
I will do it while the site is live. You shouldn't notice it happening.
I will also be putting the formatted data export up for download, if
anyone wants to setup there own production/research website.
Also a big thank you goes out to Askari, who wrote the original script
that I have butchered.
05/10/05 : Bug in the forums
It would seem there was a fairly elementary bug in the forums that stopped
people signing up, that has now been fixed. Please try to sign-up again if
you couldn't previously.
05/10/05 : Forums are up! & More pirates!
The forums are now open for discussing anything you, but mostly this site
and what can be done to improve and expand it. We have also been having more
attacks from unscrupulous pirates, but the recent measures put in place have
meant zero disruption or slow down. Try harder next time!
03/10/05 : In-game browser support added & Minor updates..
The in-game browser support went up today, and its looking good so far.. I
am leaving it as a beta-update for the moment, until I can be sure that its all
working properly(Meaning I can roll it back fairly quickly). If you spot any
errors or glitches on the site please let me know, and Ill fix them ASAP.
I have also added a limit to the number of bps you can display at a time. There
was a problem that the main bp page was loading up all your bps on the first load,
and if you have a couple of hundred of them(As many of you do) then it was taking
a long time, and putting a huge load on the server. The limit is set to 10 by
default, but goes up in increments of 10 to 100. As usual, let me know if there
are any problems.
30/09/05 : Damn those pirates!! & Thank you Mr Tester
We had a long and sustained attack against out server tonight, that has ment
email was blocked for all users, which unfortunately also ment that the sign-up
page was down for 7-8 hours. I've taken measure to make sure that the server
won't suffer as much from these problems in future, and this kind of service denial
won't be happening again in the near future.
I'd also like to give a shout out to Spnecht & Strikeman, they have both been
my voluntary testers during the beta phase of the site, and have devoted a lot
of personal time to the project, despite not knowing me from Adam. The've both
been given free life-time accounts as a thank you.
27/09/05 : The Enkidu EVE Production & Research Manager is now live!!
After several months hard work, the website is finally finished. We are still
looking for ideas for reports, and accepting requests for features in version 2.
Please read the sign-up page for T&Cs, and pricing information(Please note we
do *not* accept real world money under any circumstances, so dont ask). And for
all you people who are new to the site, here are a few pages from the help system
to show you what the site is all about..
