23/11/06 : Gone properly now.
Thank you to the person who offered there help on the website the other day(Hopefully
you know who you are). But you forgot to include your email address in the message, so
please get in touch again.
In the same vein, I am going to stop supporting the site. Since I stopped playing eve
it's become harder and harder for me to spend time on the site, and the pressures of work
and real life are making it impossible these days. If anyone would like to take over the
site, I will still continue to provide hosting and database support, but you could take
over control of the code and design. The site is done in ASP with a MSSQL background. I
have import scripts for the data feeds(Allthough I haven't done them in a while :P) so you
dont have to worry about the hardest part of the site.
26/06/06 : Gone, but not forgotten.
First of all, my apologies for the delays with the site. I've just not been
available to make any changes and process sign-ups recently, because of me
buying a new house. As you can see from these photos, I've got a lot to do
yet.
3 weeks in
6 weeks in
Its a lot better than that now, but I've still got a few weeks worth of work
to do. Then I will be back and working on the new version.
As I said in the last news, I am still looking for a designer to put his magic
touch on the site for the new version, so please please please get in touch if
you fancy a crack at it.
30/01/06 : IGB support may dissapear alltogether
You may have noticed the IGB support for the site has been slowly falling
to pieces, it's just become to hard to maintain along with all the
changes that I've been making, so I'm considering getting rid of it
totally. There is a thread in the forums under IGB I have started
that details my plans a little more, so please take a read and post any
comments you might have, or mail them to me directly.
It is a big change, and I know a lot of people want IGB, but I really
feel I can make the site 1000X more useful if I can use a lot more
advanced technology than just HTML and basic CSS. And I can add some
very funky tools for general use, such as a quick ore/production calculator,
a POS fuel management tool(Never forget to fill it again!), agent finder
and object explorer. So make your voice heard now, or I might just go
ahead and do it!
This will also mean a re-design of the site, so if your a budding
graphics designer, drop me a line and we can have a chat.
18/01/06 : It's free? Ohh ye
Yes, you may have noticed the google adsense that has appeared on the
site, this is all part of the move to a fee-free site, which is what
I originally intended. From today on there will no more fees to pay
and anyone who has not received a refund for there subscriptions should
contact me immediately. I still take donations to "Jack Tau" in-game,
so please send me some ISK if you can afford it, and you think the site
is worth it.
04/01/06 : Happy new year! And more forum problems.
I hope everyone had a great christmas and new year, be it on EVE or
in real life. We had some problems with the forums that ment some
people might have had no confirmation email from the server. I
apologise if you are one of these, but I have resurected all the
accounts so you can log in with the username and password you
selected. Any problems, drop me a line to the usual address(Tony@Enkidu.cx).
03/11/05 : Were famous! & Price cut!!
It took a bit of badgering, but CCP have updated there website and
given us a link on the main homepage. This should help drive up
member numbers, and it gives me a bit of a pat on the back I've been
needing lately. I've put a lot of time and effort into the site, and
sometimes you can start to think its not worth it, but CCPs
acknowledgement of the site and the continued sign-up rate has shown
me the site is of great use and that I should continue developing it.
A big thank you to all my testers, and just generally to people who
have helped me track down bugs and fix the data, I consider you part
of the team too!
And as we are doing so well, I have decided to chop the price for a
corp with > 10 members, in half! So now its only 5mil a month, or
50mil for an entire year! All members who have allready paid, will
have received there refund by now, and had there accounts updated.
Also, check the forums news section for an update on the IGB support, and
new changes going in soon.
27/10/05 : IGB upgrades have started
In a break from the norm, I have started to release the IGB upgrade
in pieces, so you can enjoy the speed benefits if your perservering
with using it. I will post again, hopefully tomorrow night, when I
have finished all the pages.
25/10/05 : Data Upgrade - Finished! & IGB Improvements on the way
I have finished the data upgrade, and I'm happy to say it was a 100%
success! You should notice all the gaps in the data have been filled
and also a noticable speed increase in big queries. Any problems,
please let me know on the forums, or use the contact page.
I have also started converting the site to use CSS, which will make
the IGB version of the site fly. At the moment it is kind of unusable
and this is kinda my fault, for not learning everything I needed to
know about the IGH before I leapt head-first into it. I will keep
you posted...
